The Association of Energy Engineers (AEE) has named Tiltsun co-founder and CEO Tomas Šimanauskas Energy Innovator of the Year 2026 for the Independent Eurasian States Region, "for outstanding accomplishments in applying innovative practices, principles and procedures of energy engineering".
AEE is a global professional society of energy engineers with members in more than 100 countries. Its regional awards recognise individuals whose work has advanced the practice of energy engineering.
The award recognises the engineering behind Tiltsun's flat-mount system — a ballasted, gap-free structure installed by robots — and its first utility-scale deployment at the 5 MW Skiemonys solar park in Lithuania. It joins Tiltsun's earlier recognitions: the European Innovation Council Seal of Excellence, selection for the Earthshot Prize, and Associated Partnership with Dii Desert Energy.
"This award belongs to the whole team that turned a drawing into a 5 MW park. It confirms that building solar faster, cheaper and on less land is not a slogan — it is engineering."
